Michal Isteník is a versatile Czech actor renowned for his compelling performances across theatre, television, and film. Born on July 11, 1983, in Rakovník, Czechoslovakia (now the Czech Republic), he graduated from the Janáček Academy of Music and Performing Arts in Brno in 2008. During his studies, he actively participated in various theatre productions and is a founding member of the Theatre BURANTEATR.
Isteník gained widespread recognition for his role as Eda in the acclaimed Czech TV series MOST! (2019), where he portrayed a pub owner navigating personal and societal challenges. His television repertoire includes notable performances in series such as Guru (2022), where he played nadpraporčík Mgr. Doležal, and Kukačky (2021), showcasing his range in both dramatic and comedic roles.
In cinema, Isteník delivered a standout performance as Standa in Somewhere Over the Chemtrails (2022), a satirical drama that premiered at the Berlinale. His film credits also include roles in Grap3s (2020) and Havel (2020), further establishing his presence in Czech cinema.
